I never thought I'd get to paint a Spaceship.
Although the spaceship in question turned out to be a student union Bar. Confused?
I was at first. I’d heard reference to Keble’s Spaceship but couldn’t quite picture how it would look. Until I saw it. And then? Well, it’s kinda obvious isn’t it?
Keble is a fascinating building and was designed to look like geological layers. Even the new parts, and it works.
I often wonder how many radical ideas for buildings there are out there? Then I realise I may as well ask. "How long is a piece of string?

The original picture
Kebel College Oxford - The Spaceship was initially drawn with pencil onto watercolour paper and was created in England in 2013. These lines were then drawn over using masking fluid and then painted using watercolour paint and acrylic ink. Salt was also used in the process and some of the ink blown around using a straw. Once the painting was dry the masking fluid was removed to reveal the finished painting. The print is 43.3cm high by 33cm wide.
